USAJOBS Upgrades Make Applying for Federal Jobs Easier

Good news for federal job-seekers: USAJOBS.gov, the federal government’s employment website, is getting easier to use.

The first in a series of planned upgrades was just released to make the job application process more user-friendly. This first update includes a five-step tracker to guide people through the requirements for putting together an application package. Future website improvements are scheduled for roll-out over the coming months.

The 2016 Panhandle Job Fair dates this year are Thursday, April 21  and Thursday, September 15. Doors are open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (CST). The check-in and registration for employer set-up is from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.  No registration is needed for job seekers.

Florida's jobless rate tumbles to 5.5 percent

Florida's unemployment rate fell two notches to 5.5 percent in June as the state added 7,000 jobs over the month. Though that marks the lowest rate in more than seven years, Florida still trails the national recovery. More at the Tampa Bay Times and Bright House Networks.

2015 Panhandle Job Fair Dates

The Panhandle Job Fair began in the spring of 1993 to primarily assist military service members seeking employment opportunities after completing their military careers. It was later expanded to include military spouses and the general public. The Panhandle Job Fair attracts companies nationwide who are seeking well-qualified, educated, and experienced individuals for employment opportunities worldwide.                          The continued success and growth of the Panhandle Job Fair is based on finding high-quality companies and well qualified job seekers, while keeping costs at a minimum. It attracts over 100 companies and averages 1,000 jobseekers at each fair. It boasts to be the best job fair in the Panhandle area!

The 2015 Panhandle Job Fair dates this year are 16 April 2015 (Thursday) and 17 September 2015 (Thursday) Doors are open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (CST).  The check-in and registration for employer set-up is from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Because space is limited, we encourage you to take the time now to fill out the online Registration Form. The cutoff date to register for the Panhandle Job Fair is one week prior to the event.
